Dr Tom Frieden

Dr Tom Frieden, President and Chief Executive Officer, Resolve to Save Lives, an organization that supports governments and communities to scale up solutions to the world’s deadliest problems; former Director, United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Commissioner, New York City. As CDC Director from 2009 to 2017, he led the agency's response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. Since its founding in 2017, Resolve to Save Lives has supported governments to implement programs that will prevent more than 9 million deaths, and to find health threats faster and stop them sooner. His book, The Formula for Better Health: How to Save Millions of Lives – Including Your Own, was published by MIT Press in September 2025.
