Ibrahim Sorie Turay

I am a Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) and Digital Health Specialist with the Ministry of Health, Sierra Leone. with an extensive experience in health information systems strengthening, digital health, monitoring and evaluation, disease surveillance, and data analytics, with a strong focus on leveraging data to improve health system performance and evidence-based decision-making. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Management Information Systems from the University of Makeni. Over the years, I have led and supported the design, implementation, and optimization of national digital health solutions, including DHIS2, electronic Case-Based Disease Surveillance (eCBDS), electronic Medical Records (EMR), HIV and TB information systems, and health data interoperability initiatives. I also contributed to operational research and scientific publications on digital health and HIV service delivery in Sierra Leone. As an HMIS and Digital Health professional, I have coordinated national health information system strengthening initiatives, supported data quality improvement, developed digital health strategies, and facilitated capacity-building for health workers across Sierra Leone. I have represented the country at regional and international forums on digital health, health intelligence, and health information systems, contributing to knowledge exchange and collaboration across Africa. My professional interests include health information systems, digital transformation, interoperability, health intelligence, artificial intelligence for public health, data governance, and strengthening routine health information systems to support universal health coverage and improved population health outcomes.
